i am looking in to getting a non-lock up th125 but it's hard to find as it was only made in 80-81 and in one model car the citation . is there any difference between the non-lock up and the lock up version ?

If you are referring to the TCC (Torque Converter Control Solenoid) then just unplug it.

I have an EP LSD and a 3.73 FDR and no TCC.

Other than that as far as I am aware all 3t40's (TH125) are the same.

And there are several gear ratio options available.
