I thought the 12.50/gal for the dragster was bad... Now having to put 4.00+ into the TRUCK to get it to the track... freaking stupid. Went to a division race and things are looking grim... People are putting campers on the back of their trucks because they can't afford fuel+hotels. Also look into the national dragster and see that everyone is selling their rigs... I can't afford to race now, let alone in a couple years when i'll be "better" at it . Will probably sell everything in the next few months... More money into a street racer, but still won't get my 9.00 thrills...

I give it to 6 or 7 a gal and the economy is going to hit its knees and no one will be able to afford to even drive to work to work... Stupid tv is estimating 6-7 over the summer and 10-12 by the end of the year... I don't think it could even reach 10-12 before every type of large transport comes to a screeching hault.
What kind of transportation do you have in BC?? I know I have NO public transportation options at all... I need to drive to work, approx 30-45 min depending on if I'm leaving the g/f or the rents house.

My neighbor went to get gas at the Meijer gas station around the corner before work the other day and was going to pay at the pump. The thing told him to "See cashier" so he went inside to find out the pumps couldn't handle $3.99/gallon so they weren't letting anyone get gas, lol. Too bad that doesn't work at every station. Now let's see, where did I put the keys for my moped...

There was just a bit on the news yesterday about people buying up all the Geos and other subcompacts and TDIs. Prices have rocketed on those things. I walk to work, so it hasn't hurt too bad with the 16MPG Trooper. Tank is almost empty though, and I didn't fill up before the holiday weekend, when prices are going up even more (just because they can). Lame. Have a few gallons in the bike though. That gets 60MPG, I just need to fix the flakey headlight before it kills me.
My mom has some problems with her shoulder, so she is thinking of selling her 5-speed Jetta TDI that gets 45-50MPG. It's a good time to have it for mileage, but also a good time to sell it because of the strong resale.

there is a bike path that runs along the Mississippi river.. almost from my house directly to the riverboat i work on.. 20 minute ride.
Now, if i had a bike that's worth a crap i'd ride it.

We are looking at moving closer in (currently ~20-25 min to work for both of us and school for daughter) within the next year to cut down on fuel costs. Our mortgage will go up, but I think it will be offset in the savings we will be getting from living closer to our normal destinations. And we are the same way - NO public transportation at all. If we had a bus or rail system around here, I would sure as hell be using it.

Well, just spent 50 bucks to fill up the beretta yesterday. Gas is now 3.99 here. Jumped 40 cents in 3 days.

You can thank the Memorial Day weekend for that.
