New Guy! 2.8 blown seeking efi or TBI help?
Hello,
Just joined! Happy to have found this site.. excited to see soo many people
dedicated to these little motors...
I'm a long time fan of big performance an a small package. This is my first
60* v6 I've dealt with and I have to say I'm impressed with the package.
I have an odd setup and I'm looking to upgrade the fuel delivery.
I'm running a 89 2.8 with a t5 in a 1977 plymouth arrow/ Mitus Celeste
N/A the car run and feel nice, but I got a wild hair one day and built a
blower set up for it! Using a Eaton M90 6-8lbs boost+/- First I due to limited room I ran a Side Draft Weber carb didn't work out to well, hard to tune. Now I'm running a Holley 500 2 barrel and It's runs like a bat out of hell, But I'm still looking for something better.
I would like to run a stand alone EFI or even a TBI that will support it
I'm coming to all of you for help.... What should I do? who should I use?
where can I get it?
thanks
jer

It never ceases to amaze me where these engines find homes... Welcome to the site!!
I guess the first question to ask is, what is your budget? Next question to ask is, how are your wiring and soldering skills? I would say a good candidate for what you are wanting would be a Megasquirt. Do some searching on the site (the standalone computer section of the forum would be a good place to start) and see what you think. Then come back and we can start up a more detailed discussion.

What kind of intake manifold is that blower sitting on? Can it accept injectors in the runners? If so this swap wont be so hard you would just need to get the injectors in there and then find a way to put a throttle body on the blower. That would be the majority of the hardware. The wiring and ECM would be the next step after that.

The manifold lower half is a fiero bottom and the blowers sitting on a
plenum I built, as for setting up injectors and building a intake for the throttle body is not the problem.. That's the easy part
What I'm worried about is a harness and brain..

Well in that case you have tons of choices. You can go with a modified factory OBDII system, a Megasquirt system or a fancy aftermarket system like FAST or Holley.
What kind of budget are you working with?

MegaSquirt sounds like the way to go on this. Cheap and works with boost well. Get the knock sensor kit while you're at it so you can make sure it won't blow up. Fuel injected and tuned well you will make a ton more power than you are now, and better power band.
Then in the future you could go to a camaro 3.4 RWD iron block, with 3500 LX9 or 3400 LA1 top end on it for even MORE power. Oh and a cam too. It's RWD so you'll have the traction for the extra power!

Why? silly
I can put that same set up in a 2156-2200lbs arrow
that's about 1000lbs lighter
Every 10lbs lost is 1hp improvement and every 1lbs of unsprung weight is 1hp
improvement.

Well like most car geeks I'm looking in all directions when it comes to up grades. And I've stumbled upon a used and inexpensive Holley pro-jection tbi unit...
Mega squirt quoted me a nice and fair price for what I'm looking for. But I'm wondering if anybody has had any interaction with the Holley unit? I also found a site that supplies parts and up grades (open to close loop for example) for a nice price...

Well looks like I have picked a unit. I'm going to use a 2nd gen RetroTek
self teching tbi set up. Closed loop, self mapping, can handle up 30lbs boost,
I've givin a deposit and awating a harness from them to complete the build...
