Blew a 2.8L on Video

I had driven the car for a couple months with a spun rod bearing prier to this video.. At one point in the video I was doing aprox. 140-150 in 3rd gear ,my ignition system has a built in limiter at around 9 grand so weather it was that or the on the valves there was somthing that made it not rev any higher.. cant tell ya how high I was reving, wasnt quite paying attention to the tach.

Nice destruction, but you never got close to 7000 RPM in that video, let alone 9000 RPM. Hearing the engine tells me that much anyway. I'm also assuming 140-150 is KM per hour, since no GM car can manage 140 MPH in third. Looks like it ran on 5 cylinders for a bit though, which is impressive.

it looks like aluminum heads, with a carb. did you find some ultra rare once-upon-a-time race part or make your own intake?

You don't think so? I've seen 141mph in 3rd gear. Turns about 5700rpm.

Input Parameters Are the Following:
Differential Gear = 3.73 to 1
Transmission Gear = 1.49 to 1
Tire Diameter (Inches) = 23.00
Vechicle MPH = 90
Computation Results:
Computed Engine RPM is 7310

My bad, guess I didnt didnt hit 9, and how fast I was going is also tricky kuss I had no spedo, but my buddy in the vehical folowing me was doing 140-150 and he said he wasnt want catching up so I figure 144kph is a safe speed to say. Well next time I will videotape the tach and make sure I show a flash to alteast 8 HAHAHA
